My name is Akhila Ramesh. I am a 20-something year old girl, who is a child of two. I enjoy reading during my spare time, and I like lots of outdoor activities. I enjoy lots of sports; mainly soccer, field hockey, and swimming. I am someone who always likes to work for themselves, and someone who views themselves as in control of their own destiny. I can never let anyone decide things for me, or tell me how my life will turn out, no matter who they are.
My favorite self help book is the Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. I always refer to old fiction writers when I am learning about life struggles, or for just pleasure. I love Dr. Seuss, John Steinbeck, Ray Bradbury, and Roald Dahl as my favorite authors. JD Salinger is another all-time favorite that I cannot live without. Anything dystopian, existentialist, or anything challenging social notions of conformity is what I like to read. The writings of Rousseau and Sartre are what I refer to in philosophy.
I am mainly into mathematics and business of course though, and very little of an idealist. I am interested in mostly women’s fashion and cosmetics. I am a reasonably cute and attractive young girl (don’t need a paper bag over my head, exactly), and view aesthetic sensibilities as a way to increase confidence and self-esteem among females, which our society is lacking. I look as my new blog as a way to spread these ideas, and to create something identifying and relatable to the less affluent, average woman or girl next door.
TTYL! Feel free to message me or comment anything…. I don’t bite!
